Issue: Show hidden files on a Mac

Affects: Apple OS 10.4 and higher

Solutions to the issue:

Command line method:

Open the Terminal application and type in the line:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE

followed by:

killall Finder

(To reverse, replace TRUE with FALSE)
