Adding Domains to LAN Logic
Issue: How to add a domain alias to LAN Logic
Affects:
Solutions to the issue:
1. Send an email from the original domain (the LANLogic customer) to support@lanlogic.net asking for the domain to be added
2. LANLogic will send an email with the changes to be made to the MX record for the domain
3. Make the MX changes at the Domain Registrar
Comments:
Alias domains can only receive email. Email sent from the account will be sent from the Primary Email Address (see below to change Primary Address)
Aliases must be created for all users
1. Log into the Control Panel (https://cp.myhostedexchange.com with an admin account for your domain)
2. Click on “List users”
3. Select the user you want to add an alias for
4. Select “User Actions”
5. Click on “Manage Email Addresses”
6. Click on “Add”
7. Type in the full email alias (eg. alias@domain.com)
8. Click on “Add”
To make the alias domain the primary account (so it will be sent from the domain)
1. Log into the LANLogic web interface as the account admin
2. Click on “List users”
3. Select the user you want to add an alias for
4. Select “User Actions”
5. Click on “Manage Email Addresses”
6. Select the address you would like to set at primary
7. Click “set as Primary”
