Automatic forwarding outside of the organisation

Issue: If you want to create a rule to forward message to an external email address, you need to make sure to enable automatic forwarding on the exchange server:

Affects: Exchange 2003, Exchange 2007

Solutions to the issue:

  • Exchange 2003:

1. Check in Exchange systems manager:

2. Global Settings/Internet message Format/default – advanced tab.

3. For your rule to work €œAllow automatic forward” needs to be checked.

  • Exchange 2007:

1. Exchange management console

2. Organization Configuration /hub transport /remote domains

3. Click right on default format of original message sent as attachment to journal report

4. Check €œAllow automatic forward
